Mechanical Engineer - Product Compliance

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of new products with specialization on rotor and structural dynamics

• Lead engineer and expert for product certification matters

• Lead liaison with certification and regulatory partners

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience with machinery design

• Knowledge of component mechanical design and calculations (e.g., Gears, Shaft, Bearing selection, rotor dynamics, structural dynamics)

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ideally knowledge in design for certification

• Ideally knowledge, or willingness to gain knowledge in associated regulations, certifications, declarations, and standards such as RoHS, REACH, CE and Conflict Minerals

• Ideally existing knowledge, or willingness to gain knowledge with global electrical product safety standards such as EMC

• Ideally working experience, or willingness to gain working experience, with certification bodies such as TUV, UL, CSA, Intertek, etc.

• Excellent verbal and written communication, especially on an international scale

• Fluent English, and ideally good German knowledge

 

Minimum education and work experience required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering

• 5-years’ experience in the design of machinery and equipment

• Ideally 2 years or more in global Product regulatory compliance or Research & Development environments food equipment
